Educational Qualification
The essential educational qualifications vary depending on the post. Generally, candidates are required to possess qualifications ranging from 10th pass with relevant licenses/ITI certificates to Bachelor’s degrees in relevant disciplines from recognized universities/institutes. For detailed post-wise qualifications, including desirable experience and proficiency, candidates must refer to Table 1 of the official advertisement. The cut-off date for reckoning essential qualifications is 01.09.2026.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for UR/EWS candidates for all posts is 30 years as of 01.09.2026. Age relaxations will be provided for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/Ex-Servicemen candidates as per Government of India directives.
Application Fees
A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- is applicable for General/OBC/EWS candidates. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen and Departmental candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Payment must be made online through the payment gateway available on the MECL portal.
Selection Process
The selection process for Non-Executive posts at MECL will involve the following stages:
- Screening of Applications: Shortlisting based on academic credentials and relevant experience.
- Written Test: A competitive examination with 100% weightage. The cut-off marks for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS is 50%, and for SC/ST is 45%. PwD candidates will have a relaxed standard.
- Document Verification (DV): Candidates will be called in a ratio of 1:7 based on written test merit.
- Skill Test / Trade Test: A qualifying nature test (e.g., computer proficiency test, drilling operations, driving test, etc.) specific to the post, conducted by an internal committee.
- Final Merit List: Prepared based on marks obtained in the Written Test for candidates who qualify the Skill Test/Trade Test.
All tests will be conducted in Nagpur City only.
