Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the Staff Nurse, Class-3 post must possess the following qualifications as per the recruitment rules dated 17/06/2025:
- A degree of B.Sc.(Nursing) obtained from any university established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India, or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared as deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; AND recognized by the Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
- OR a Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery obtained from an institution recognized by the Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
- Possess the basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
- Possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
Important Note: Candidates appointed on the basis of this examination must get themselves registered with the Gujarat Nursing Council under the Gujarat Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitor’s Act, 1968 at the time of their appointment, if not already registered.
Age Limit
As of 12/10/2026, candidates must be:
- Not less than 18 years of age.
- Not more than 35 years of age.
Age relaxation will be applicable as per Gujarat Government rules for reserved categories, women candidates, Ex-servicemen, and Divyang candidates. For instance:
- General (Female): 5 years (Max. 40 years)
- Reserved (Male): 5 years (Max. 40 years)
- Reserved (Female): 10 years (5+5) (Max. 45 years)
- General Divyang (Male): 10 years (Max. 45 years)
- General Divyang (Female): 15 years (10+5) (Max. 45 years)
- Reserved Divyang (Male): 15 years (5+10) (Max. 45 years)
- Reserved Divyang (Female): 20 years (5+10+5) (Max. 45 years)
- Ex-servicemen: Relaxation equal to the period of service rendered plus three years.
Application Fees
The application fees for the competitive examination are as follows:

The fees must be paid online. Fees paid will not be refunded to those candidates who appear for the examination. Candidates must obtain and save the fee receipt (e-receipt).
Salary
For the first five years, selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary of Rs. 40,800/-. After satisfactory completion of five years of service, candidates will be appointed on a regular pay scale of Rs. 29,200/- to Rs. 92,300/- (Level-5) as per the 7th Pay Commission.
Selection Process
The selection process for Staff Nurse, Class-3 will involve a competitive examination comprising two papers, both in MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) format.
Paper-I: Nursing Subject (100 Marks)
- Duration: 2 hours
- Syllabus Distribution:
- Fundamental of Nursing: 20 Marks
- Medical Surgical Nursing: 20 Marks
- Midwifery and Pediatric Nursing: 20 Marks
- Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing: 20 Marks
- Community Health Nursing: 20 Marks
- Passing Marks: Minimum 40%
- The syllabus for Nursing subjects will be as per the Indian Nursing Council’s prescribed curriculum.
Paper-II: Gujarati Language (100 Marks)
- Duration: 2 hours
- Syllabus Distribution:
- Language: 30 Marks
- Grammar: 40 Marks
- Literature: 30 Marks
- Passing Marks: Minimum 40%

- If you have OTR, enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth, then click “Apply with OTR” to fill the application form. If not, complete OTR first.
- Fill in all “Personal Details” and “Educational Details” accurately.
- Accept the “Assurance” by selecting “Yes” and “Save”. Note your Application Number.
- Upload your photograph and signature (Photo: 5 cm height, 3.6 cm width; Signature: 2.5 cm height, 7.5 cm width; both in JPG format, max 15 KB). Ensure the photo is recent (taken within one year from the application end date) with a white background. Keep multiple copies.
- Confirm your application after reviewing all details. Once confirmed, no changes can be made.
- Take a printout of your confirmed application form for future reference.
- Pay the application fees online by 12/10/2026.
