Educational Qualification
Candidates must meet the following educational requirements as of September 23, 2026:
- Possess a Post Graduate Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics, Applied Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Business Statistics, Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Advanced Statistics as a principal subject from any university established or incorporated by or under a State Act in India, or any educational institution recognized as such or declared as deemed to be a university under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
- Possess basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services and Recruitment (General) Rules, 196.
- Possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both languages.
Age Limit
As of September 23, 2026, candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 37 years old. Age relaxations are applicable as per government rules:
- General Female Candidates: 5 years
- Reserved Category Male Candidates: 5 years
- Reserved Category Female Candidates: 10 years (maximum 45 years)
- General PwD Male Candidates: 10 years (maximum 45 years)
- General PwD Female Candidates: 15 years (maximum 45 years)
- Reserved PwD Male Candidates: 15 years (maximum 45 years)
- Reserved PwD Female Candidates: 20 years (maximum 45 years)

Application Fees

Salary Structure
Appointed candidates will receive a fixed salary for the first five years as follows:
- Research Assistant (Class-3): ₹ 48,500/- per month
- Statistical Assistant (Class-3): ₹ 40,800/- per month
After five years of satisfactory service, candidates will be eligible for regular appointment as per the 7th Pay Commission norms.
Selection Process
The selection process will involve a competitive examination conducted using the MCQ-CBRT (Computer Based Response Test) / OMR method. The exam will consist of two parts:
- Part-A (90 Marks):
- Reasoning & Data Interpretation: 30 Questions, 30 Marks
- Quantitative Aptitude: 30 Questions, 30 Marks
- Constitution of India: 10 Questions, 10 Marks
- Current Affairs: 10 Questions, 10 Marks
- Comprehension (Gujarati & English): 10 Questions, 10 Marks
- Part-B (120 Marks):
- Questions and Its Applications related to Educational Qualification: 120 Questions, 120 Marks
- Total Questions: 210
- Total Marks: 210
- Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes)
- Negative Marking: 1/4th mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Qualifying Standard: Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% in both Part-A and Part-B independently to qualify.
A provisional merit list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained, and candidates approximately two times the number of vacancies will be called for document verification.
