Eligibility Criteria for Indian Overseas Bank Recruitment

- Nationality: A Citizen of India, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India. - Work Experience:
- Generalist Officer (Post Code 01): Minimum 3 years as an Officer in any Scheduled Public Sector Bank or Scheduled Private Sector Bank, with at least 2 years in Branch Banking. Experience as Scale I Branch Head is preferred.
- IT Officers (Post Code 02, 05): Minimum 5 to 8 years of post-qualification IT experience, with at least 3-5 years in Banking/BFSI environments. Hands-on experience in specialized technology domains such as Full Stack Development, OS Administration, Network Administration, Cloud Engineering, Storage Administration, Database Administration, Domain/IAM Administration, Automation, ITSM, BCP/DR, Virtualization, DevOps, DevSecOps, Middleware, IT Procurement.
- IS Officers (Post Code 03, 04, 06, 07, 10): Minimum 2 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in Information Security/IS Audit/Cyber Security, with at least 1-3 years in Banking/BFSI or extensive experience in Software design and development following Secure by Design principles. Experience in Web Application Security, Mobile Security, API Security, SAST, DAST, AI/LLM Security, Red Team activities, or developing Web applications for banking/BFSI.
- Database Administrator (Post Code 08): Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in Database Administration, with at least 5 years in Production Database Administration and 3 years in Banking/BFSI supporting mission-critical applications. Experience in 24×7 large-scale production databases.
- Network Administrator (Post Code 09): Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in Network Operations, including Network Security (Cisco FTD, Checkpoint Firewalls), Enterprise Network Architecture, Routing and Switching, preferably within Data Center Networking environments.
- Credit Officers (Post Code 11, 12): Minimum 3 to 6 years of post-qualification work experience in Bank/Financial Institution, with at least 2-4 years in the domain of credit. Experience in handling MSME/Corporate Advances is preferred.
- Risk Officer (Post Code 13): Minimum 5 years of post-qualification work experience in Public Sector Bank/Private Sector Bank/NBFC/Financial Institution as an officer in the area of Risk, Credit, Forex, Treasury and Finance.
- Assistant Manager (Security) (Post Code 14): Retired Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) or equivalent with minimum 5 years of service in Army/Navy/Air Force, OR Inspector or above with minimum 5 years’ service in Paramilitary Forces/Police. Date of discharge must be on or before 30.09.2026.
- Certifications: Specific professional certifications are preferred or mandatory for specialist roles, such as Oracle OCA/OCP, CISSP, CISA, CCNA, ComptTIA Security+, GIAC, ITIL Foundation, etc. (Refer to the official notification for post-wise details).

- English Language: 25 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutes
- Professional Knowledge (Banking Law & Practice, Indian Economy & Indian Financial System, Principles & Practices of Banking, Accounting & Financial Management for Bankers): 75 questions, 75 marks, 90 minutes
- Total: 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours.
- All Other posts in Scale I/II/III:
- English Language: 25 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutes
- General Awareness with Special reference to Banking Industry: 25 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutes
- Professional Knowledge: 50 questions, 50 marks, 60 minutes
- Total: 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours.
- There will be negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer.
- Minimum qualifying marks for the Professional Knowledge section are 30% for reserved categories and 35% for unreserved categories.
- Generalist Officer (Branch Management) in Scale II:
- Interview:
- Candidates qualifying the Online Examination will be called for a Personal Interview.
- The interview will be for a maximum of 100 marks, assessing Role related Exposure, Subject Knowledge, and Communication Skills.
- Minimum qualifying marks in the Interview are 50% for unreserved candidates and 45% for reserved candidates.
The final merit list will be prepared by assigning a weightage of 80% to the Online Examination and 20% to the Interview.
