The Indian Army has invited applications from unmarried male and female Law Graduates for the grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Branch. The notification for the JAG Entry Scheme 124th Course (commencing in October 2026) has been released.

Interested candidates who have cleared the CLAT PG 2025 exam can apply online from 27 January 2026 to 27 February 2026. A total of 08 vacancies are available for this course. Below are the complete details regarding eligibility, age limit, salary, and selection process.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

  • Minimum Marks: Candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in their LLB Degree (either 3 years professional after graduation or 5 years after 10+2).
  • CLAT Score: CLAT PG 2025 Score is MANDATORY for all candidates (including LLM qualified/appearing).
  • Bar Council Registration: The candidate should be eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India/State.
  • Institution: The College/University must be recognized by the Bar Council of India.

2. Age Limit (As on 01 July 2026)

  • Age: 21 to 27 Years.
  • Birth Date Range: Born not earlier than 02 July 1999 and not later than 01 July 2005 (both dates inclusive).

💰 Salary & Stipend

  • Stipend during Training: ₹ 56,100/- per month.
  • Pay Scale on Commissioning: Lieutenant Rank – Level 10 (₹ 56,100 – ₹ 1,77,500) + MSP ₹ 15,500/- + Other Allowances.

📝 Selection Process

The selection procedure involves the following stages:

  1. Shortlisting of Applications: Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) will shortlist applications based on the CLAT PG 2025 score.
  2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be detailed for the SSB interview at Selection Centres (Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, Jalandhar). The interviews are likely to be held in May/June 2026.
  3. Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination.
  4. Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the SSB interview.

  5. Fill in the personal, communication, and education details carefully. CGPA/Grades must be converted to marks as per your university’s formula.
  6. Submit the form and take two printouts of the final application (one to carry to the SSB interview).
